Yin yoga

Yin Yoga is simple, but simple does not mean easy

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas which complements perfectly the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. The posture are held for longer periods of time. The range of holding a posture varies from 45 seconds to two minutes.

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine, the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice.

The benefits of practicing Yin Yoga are many. This type of slow yoga is suitable for almost all levels of students. It improves flexibility, releases fascia, improves joint mobility and improves the flow of energy. By calming the mind and body it helps in the reduction of stress.

If your mind is always racing this can be the type of yoga for you.

Ada's  philosophy is that yoga should not hurt and should be doable for everyone. And that is why she adapts all the postures in the yin class to the needs of everyone attending the class.
